Spring 2024 Ad Campaign

Review of Calvin Klein Spring 2024 Ad Campaign by Photographer Mert Alas with model Jung Kook

The unstoppable star power of Calvin Klein’s Spring 2024 campaign series rolls on with a new face that may be its biggest yet: Jung Kook of BTS. The iconic K-pop sensation was captured in New York by photographer Mert Alas.

The campaign picks up on its previous chapters’ (which so far have starred Jeremy Allen White, Idris Elba, and Kendall Jenner) narrative of a bold creative personality putting their mark on New York to a well-chosen musical accompaniment. Jung Kook’s chapter sees the star with Grand Central Station all to himself, an iconic landmark transformed into a boundless playground for self-expression.

The imagery really comes to life in the campaign’s video portion, in which Jung Kook wears a short-sleeve shirt unbuttoned to reveal his bare torso, prompting maximum fan-girlage. He shows off a more spontaneous side of his revered dance talents, exuding deadly yet playful confidence.

Calvin Klein’s series of Spring 2024 campaign strike an impressive balance in that, while they all completely play into the brand’s recognizable aesthetic, they each feel like they were built around their individual star. A strong sense of personal expression shines through, and each chapter deepens this practice by taking it in a distinct new direction. With this latest installment, this success continues, while of course getting a ginormous engagement boost thanks to the seemingly endless army of BTS fans who are coming out in droves to pay their respect to a wisely chosen brand ambassador.
