The latest addition marks the first new scent since 2022, inspired by the chic style of the 1960s
Celine has expanded its fragrance line with the launch of ‘Zouzou’, a new perfume priced at $280, marking the fashion house’s first new scent introduction since 2022. The fragrance, characterized by notes of caramel, amber, and musk, draws inspiration from the spirited and fashionable women of the 1960s. Designer Hedi Slimane has channeled the fashion and beauty trends of that vibrant era into Zouzou, a name affectionately used in the past for young girls with short hair and also to express fondness.
Since its first foray into fragrances in 2019, when Celine introduced nine scents, the brand has incrementally grown its collection, adding two more in 2021 and 2022. Additionally, the LVMH-owned label announced a significant expansion into the cosmetics market this March. Starting with the launch of its debut lipstick, Rouge Triomphe, this autumn, Celine plans to unveil a more extensive range of beauty products in January 2025.
This move into beauty comes as LVMH reports a robust performance in its perfume and cosmetics division, which grew by 7 percent according to the group’s first-quarter earnings released last week. The expansion into beauty products underlines Celine’s broader strategy to diversify its offerings and strengthen its presence in the luxury market.
