Celine’s creative director, Hedi Slimane continues to hammer home at a level of consistency and elevated aesthetics that remains deceptively simple, yet no one else is doing it.
For the house’s latest campaign to promote it’s Chaîne Maillon Triomphe bag, Slimane has launched a ‘Portrait of an Actress‘ campaign capturing ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,’ and daughter of model turned actress Andie MacDowell, Margaret Quailey. The campaign has legs in its title as a potential series and we expect Slimane to turn his camera on a slew of other pretty-young-cinematic talents that represent Hollwyoowod next generation of chic and classical artist.
The campaign reminds us of just how wise it is to have a simple and direct vision and yet we see so few houses that manage to create a crisp vision that can easily be leveraged to promote story after story. Thankfully for Celine, they have found a champion with single minded clarity and their gain is also ours.
