Chanel Opens First U.S. Watches and High Jewelry Flagship

The 3,300 Square-Foot Fifth Avenue Store Deepens the Brand’s Push Into the American Luxury Jewelry Market

Chanel has opened its inaugural watch and jewelry flagship store in the United States, situated on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The new boutique emphasizes Chanel’s deeper foray into the American market for fine jewelry and timepieces, which have been a consistently resilient sector despite a mixed bag of results for luxury sales over the recent year.

Spanning two floors with 3,300 square feet of retail space, the flagship was designed in collaboration with architect Peter Marino and draws inspiration from Chanel’s Parisian locations, particularly the esteemed 18 Place Vendôme. The exterior features black granite and bronze screens, while the interior boasts a palette of gold and black, creating a sophisticated ambiance. Marino’s meticulous design incorporates elements such as coromandel-style wall finishes and custom-made furniture, aiming to provide a refined shopping experience for customers.

The flagship offers a curated selection of Chanel’s iconic high jewelry pieces and watches, including the Première Edition Originale and J12 collections.

A notable feature of the boutique is its immersive experience, allowing clients to virtually connect with Chanel’s fine jewelry creation studio in Paris. This innovative approach underscores Chanel’s commitment to customer engagement and personalized service.

To commemorate the opening, Chanel has unveiled exclusive collections, including the Lion Solaire de Chanel high jewelry collection, inspired by Coco Chanel’s zodiac sign, Leo. Additionally, clients can enjoy a bespoke engraving service for rings from the Coco Crush collection exclusively available at the new flagship.
