Emerging Label Yoshita 1967 Earns Spot in Global Design Finals

Recognition for the label’s circular design philosophy sends Yoshita 1967 to the global finals, where a $25,000 prize and a runway presentation at Lakmé Fashion Week await

Yoshita 1967 has been named the European winner of the Circular Design Challenge, adding another milestone to the rising label’s international profile; the recognition advances the Paris-based brand to the final round this October. The competition, now in its eighth edition, received approximately 220 applications worldwide before narrowing the field to 23 finalists.

Founded by designer Anil Padia, Yoshita 1967 was selected from a field of European semifinalists during a ceremony at the Meurice hotel in Paris. The award arrives shortly after Yoshita 1967 was named a finalist for the 2026 LVMH Prize, further positioning the young label among fashion’s most closely watched emerging brands.

Rooted in Anil Padia’s Kenyan-Indian heritage, the brand has built its identity around handcrafted production, long-term partnerships with female artisan communities, and a design philosophy that treats circularity as part of the creative process rather than a standalone sustainability initiative.

Yoshita 1967’s advancement to the global finals underscores a broader shift in emerging luxury, where craftsmanship, business viability, and circular design increasingly shape industry recognition alongside creative vision. The competition offers the label another platform to build international visibility as it continues its upward trajectory.
