Gucci announces the opening of its newly relocated store in Las Vegas in The Shops at Crystals in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two-floor boutique spans almost 12,000 square feet and features both Casino and Street level entrances, showcasing a wide collection of men’s and women’s shoes and ready-to-wear, handbags, luggage, small leather goods, fashion and fine jewelry and watches, eyewear, and Gucci Beauty and fragrances. The newly renovated Gucci at The Shops at Crystals joins Gucci’s other Las Vegas locations.
With a look that invites customers to feel welcome and relaxed, guests are welcomed by the boutique’s Italian marble façade, while the interior design remains discreet. Contemporary luxury is suggested not only by the employment of beautiful and idiosyncratic materials, but also through a determinedly spare use of space. In keeping with the elegant and contemporary eclecticism that characterizes Gucci’s collections, the store sees the combination of traditional and modern, industrial, and romantic. Contrasting merchandising elements represent different design codes, combining to create curiosity, inviting customers to feel like they are constantly discovering new aspects of the store.
Further playing into the unique design of this new Gucci store, the space will feature a large hand-painted mural designed by Friend of the House Ignasi Monreal. It’s a continuation of a long-standing relationship with Ignasi, whose work is characterized by the blending of his classical art background with digital dexterity. Ignasi has previously collaborated with Gucci on the Spring/Summer 2018 advertising campaign and the Gucci Hallucination Campaign & Collection. Ignasi’s mural at Gucci Crystals will highlight the creative intersection of classic Italian frescos with the playfulness of Las Vegas, in Monreal’s whimsical and spirited style. Inspired by the unique city, the mural will touch upon ancient, contemporary, and sometimes completely surreal themes all at once.
The mood within the store is one of discretion, where understated drama is created by the surprising and unexpected combination of materials. Juxtaposition of this sort, where opposites forge a new connection, is repeated throughout: technical, mechanical display units contrast with the softness of the rich fabrics that adorn the rooms; round tables offset rectangular ones; and Sage Green studded walls complement Old Rose satin walls and fixtures. Throughout the store one finds sumptuous chairs, while vintage oriental rugs are layered over patterned Italian terrazzo marble floors, producing decorative and textured effects. The result is a space that entices, surprises, and feels personal to Gucci.
