Kenzo Launches Second Capsule Collection In Partnership With WWF

Kenzo Continues Their Effort With The Tx2 Initiative

Kenzo is launching a second capsule collection in partnership with the World Wide Fund as part of the “TX2” initiative to double the number of tigers by 2022.

The collection is dedicated exclusively to the big cats that serve as the brand’s mascot and feature an emblematic tiger in a revitalized graphic. The brand draws inspiration from the animal, as it symbolizes powerful energy and pays homage to the brand’s founder Kenzo Takada. In 1970, Kenzo was originally founded under the name “Jungle Jap” as Takada wanted to blend two of his loves, the jungle, and japan.

This goal, known as TX2, is one of the most ambitious conservation goals ever set for a single species. Composed of essentials – sweatshirts, t-shirts, and tank tops – the new capsule collection comprises 100% organic cotton certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). For each piece sold, Kenzo will donate $10 towards the TX2 goal. Kenzo’s goal of 2022 is noble and symbolic, as 2022 is the Year of the Tiger in the lunar calendar.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the global population of wild tigers has fallen by over 95% due to rampant poaching and rapid habitat loss – with an estimated 3,200 wild tigers left in 2010.

Kenzo’s wish is to help preserve these unique animals, which are also a keystone species underpinning the health of ecosystems and the wellbeing of communities and wildlife in the areas they inhabit.

Successfully protecting tigers safeguards huge landscapes, many of which harbor thousands of other threatened species.

This collaboration forms part of a broader partnership between Kenzo and WWF, which will improve the sustainability of their cotton supply chain and freshwater footprint. The new capsule collection will be available from March 22nd on Kenzo.com and in Kenzo stores worldwide.
