Kim Jones Reimagines Seaside Sophistication in Fendi’s New Summer Collection

The Collection Merges Classic Fendi Elegance With Summery Seaside Ease

Fendi has debuted its Summer 2024 collection, extending the brand’s signature take on Roman elegance to a spirit of seaside getaways. The collection’s ready-to-wear pieces are designed by Kim Jones, with accessories by Silvia Venturini Fendi.

Characteristic of the collection is a revived and summery version of the Pequin print, the black and tobacco vertical “logo no logo” pattern originally designed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1983. Other summer staples include a light leather jacket, striped silk shirts, and relaxed denim sets.

Rome is a place that takes in the city and the seaside. It is a dialogue that has an ancient history as well as a modern one, from Petronious to Pasolini. It’s a story that continues today, about pleasure, leisure, work and drama – in other words, life. I wanted the collection to reflect this and expand on the idea of Roman freedom; that elegance in ease and not caring what anybody else thinks, about women who dress for themselves and their own lives. It is about the confidence and chicness that comes with that, of not being something but being someone.”

– Kim Jones, Fendi Artistic Director of Womenswear

On the accessories front, playful meets practical as the house mingles its leatherworking mastery with other craft techniques and summery materials like macrame, crochet, and woven raffia. The colors of a seaside sunset emerge across the palette of beige, sky blue, coral, and lemon.

The collection is available at Fendi boutiques worldwide and on the brand’s website starting May 9th.
