Loro Piana Supports 93rd Piazza di Siena Competition

The Maison continues its long-standing partnership with one of Europe’s oldest equestrian events, reinforcing its ties to the sport and its heritage of performance craftsmanship

Loro Piana reaffirmed its commitment to the equestrian world through its support of the 93rd Concours de Saut International Officiel Piazza di Siena, held from May 27 to 31, 2026, in Rome’s Villa Borghese. The Maison once again served as a partner of the historic competition, which remains one of Europe’s most prestigious show jumping events.

As part of its involvement, Loro Piana presented the Loro Piana Trophy and the Loro Piana Six-Bars competition on May 30. Representing the House’s Jumping Team under its signature gold-and-blue colors were riders Edwina Tops Alexander, Lorenzo De Luca, and Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani, all longstanding ambassadors of the brand’s equestrian activities.

The partnership reflects a relationship that spans decades. Founded in 1985, the Loro Piana Jumping Team established the Maison’s formal connection to competitive equestrian sport. In 1992, the company extended its expertise in technical apparel to create the official uniforms for the Italian Show Jumping Team at the Barcelona Olympic Games, laying the foundation for its continued involvement in equestrian performance wear.

For this year’s competition, the riders wore custom-designed uniforms that combined technical innovation with the House’s tailoring expertise. The wardrobe centered on a reworked version of the Spagna jacket in Bristol stretch wool, paired with technical riding trousers and performance shirts engineered for comfort and mobility. Off the course, athletes wore pieces from Loro Piana’s broader outerwear offering, including the Horsey jacket and bomber styles incorporating the brand’s proprietary Storm System treatment.

The Maison’s association with equestrian sport is closely linked to its history. Pier Luigi and Sergio Loro Piana were both avid horse enthusiasts, and the company has supported Piazza di Siena for more than 30 years. Over that period, the event has become a key platform through which the brand demonstrates the intersection of craftsmanship, technical innovation, and sporting performance.

As luxury brands continue to deepen their engagement with heritage sports, Loro Piana’s longstanding presence in the equestrian world remains a distinctive expression of its identity, connecting product development, brand history, and cultural relevance through a shared commitment to excellence.
