Gherardo Felloni is awarded Footwear News Designer of the Year 2023
The House of Roger Vivier is delighted to announce that our creative director Gherardo Felloni has been awarded the prestigious title of Designer of the Year 2023 at the 37th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards at a ceremony and gala dinner at Cipriani South Street in New York City on November 29th, 2023. The award was presented to Felloni by the American actress, singer and author Lea Michele. This award is an extraordinary honour as Felloni enters into his 6th year at the House, and a highly-merited accolade that is a testament to his transformative vision driving Roger Vivier as it has evolved into a 360° accessories house offering handbags, jewellery, gloves, belts and other accessories on top of its dynamic footwear collection for women and men. Felloni’s grasp of the Roger Vivier DNA and the House approach to artisanal shoe-making balances beautifully with his natural curiosity, flamboyant creativity, and thirst for innovation in the field. Today, his artistic touch is felt throughout all creative expressions in the Roger Vivier universe. Established in 1986, previous winners of the Designer of the Year award include Tabitha Simmons, Amina Muaddi, Giuseppe Zanotti, Charlotte ‘Olympia’ Dellal, Nicholas Kirkwood, Miuccia Prada, Pierre Hardy, Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik.
