The exhibition, curated by Anthony Vaccarello, showcases the French-Australian photographer’s exploration of identity, memory, and desire
Saint Laurent Babylone has opened Daydreaming of him, a photography exhibition by French-Australian photographer Christopher Barraja, curated by Anthony Vaccarello. The exhibition is on view in Paris from June 3 through September 13 and marks the latest cultural initiative from Saint Laurent’s Rive Droite platform.
Born in 1996, Barraja lives and works between Paris and Nice. A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, he first gained recognition with De Chlore et de Rosé, a project published by Fisheye Éditions in 2023 that earned the Picto Prize and led to his selection as a finalist at the 37th Hyères Festival in 2022.

The exhibition brings together works that explore themes of identity, memory, intimacy, and desire through Mediterranean landscapes and contemporary queer culture. Barraja’s photography is characterized by its use of light, materiality, and suggestion, examining the relationship between softness and strangeness, vulnerability and voyeurism. His images often transform everyday moments into studies of nostalgia, ambiguity, and emotional projection.
All exhibited works will be available for purchase during the exhibition. Saint Laurent Babylone will also offer a limited edition of 100 numbered fanzines signed by the artist.
The exhibition continues Saint Laurent’s investment in cultural programming through its Rive Droite and Babylone concepts. Conceived by Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent Rive Droite extends the house’s activities beyond fashion into art, photography, music, publishing, performance, and design. Saint Laurent Babylone, located at 9 rue de Grenelle in Paris, serves as a bookstore and cultural destination dedicated to books, art, music, and exhibitions, further expanding the brand’s engagement with contemporary creative communities.
