Sorry Thanks I Love You Welcomes Brett Westfall’s California-Inspired Installation

Westfield Sydney Boutique Showcases Exclusive Streetwear and Themed Café

Los Angeles-based artist Brett Westfall, part of the DSM Paris Brand Development program, is taking over the Sorry Thanks I Love You boutique and café at Westfield Sydney mall until July 28. The installation, inspired by Californian roadside stands, features Westfall’s fall 2024 collection of tie-dyed graphic hoodies, T-shirts, and streetwear made from found objects like wooden freight pallets and discarded bicycles.

The café is offering a strawberry-themed menu, including custom pink lamingtons, strawberry brioches, and strawberry-based drinks.

Sorry Thanks I Love You, founded in 2013 by Caroline Ball and Ant White, has operated pop-up boutiques in Sydney until moving to Westfield Sydney in December 2023. The boutique, now focused on fashion, features over 100 brands like Comme des Garçons, Y-3, Diesel, Marni, and DSM Paris incubator labels.

In May 2023, Ball and White opened a Y-3 boutique in Westfield Sydney and plan to expand to four to five stores in Sydney and Melbourne in the next five years. Their upcoming event, Ffwd, will combine fashion, music, art, food, cocktails, and film from August 1 to 4 at The Machine Hall in Sydney.

Ball stated,

We’re really focusing on creating interesting content and experiences for people, whether in the fashion, art, or music world. We’re playing in a slightly different space than traditional fashion bricks-and-mortar.”
