Steve Madden celebrates the unique creative personalities that make its home of New York special with its uplifting Fall 2024 campaign. The imagery was lensed by photographer Daniel Arnold.
Bursting with joyful urban energy, the campaign features a colorful cast of influencers who represent the city’s eclectic vibrancy. Among them is “The Green Lady” of Brooklyn, known for her commitment to wearing only green, fashion designer and nightlife personality Richie Rich, writer Mickey Boardman, iconic fashion journalist Lynn Yaeger, and iconic drag queen Lady Bunny. The scene also includes a cameo from George Papoutsis, a former taxi driver who gained viral fame as a street basketball player. Seth Phillips, better known as @guywithasign, appears holding a sign that reads, “Yes, Steve is a real person.” Finally, Madden himself makes a fun cameo, serving a hot dog from a Sabrett street cart.
We’re more than familiar with the “love letter to New York” campaign concept, and it feels like we’ve seen five of them this season alone. Thankfully, the thoughtful and fun casting and the dynamic editing of the video do enough to keep us engaged. Steve Madden breaks through the jadedness to remind us of why New York is worth loving in the first place.
