Tom Ford / Fade to Black

Tom Ford, following the sale of the Tom Ford brand, will concentrate on film projects in development via his production company Fade to Black.

Ford wrote, produced and directed A Single Man [2009] and Nocturnal Animals [2016] via Fade To Black.

A Single Man premiered on September 11, 2009, at the 66th Venice International Film Festival, starring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Nicholas Hoult, where it was nominated for top award the Golden Lion.

Colin Firth was awarded the Volpi Cup as Best Actor for his performance. He won a BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and was nominated for an Academy Award, Golden Globe, Independent Spirit Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. The film won AFI Film of the Year and the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film.

Nocturnal Animals premiered on September 2, 2016, at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival starring Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. It was also nominated for top award the Golden Lion and went on to win the Grand Jury prize.

Shannon earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 89th Academy Awards. The film garnered 9 BAFTA Award nominations and Golden Globe Award nominations including Best Director and Best Screenplay for Ford; with Taylor-Johnson winning the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.
