Fashion and Skateboarding Cultures Merge in Latest Collaboration
Vans has announced a collaboration with New York-based womenswear and accessories label Proenza Schouler, founded by designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. The partnership merges Proenza Schouler’s art and design influences with Vans’ skateboarding heritage to create a new take on the Classic Slip-On.
The Vans x Proenza Schouler Puffy Slip-On reinvents the iconic ‘70s silhouette with exaggerated proportions and fine leather materials, offering a blend of wearable luxury and modern craftsmanship. “We are honored to be collaborating with Vans to reinterpret their iconic Slip-On silhouette using Proenza Schouler brand codes. A shared appreciation for strong design and fine craftsmanship informed the project from beginning to end. We couldn’t be more excited to finally share this project with all of you today,” said Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Creative Directors and Co-Founders of Proenza Schouler.
The campaign, shot by Alessio Bolzoni and styled by Thistle Brown, contrasts the soft texture of the Slip-On with New York’s urban elements. The Slip-On is available in three colorways: Ecru, Black, and Resin. It features a custom Proenza Schouler footbed and sleek glossed sidewalls.
Retailing for $200 USD, the Vans x Proenza Schouler Puffy Slip-On is now available in Ecru and Black on otw.vans.com and proenzaschouler.com. The Resin colorway will be sold exclusively at proenzaschouler.com and the Proenza Schouler Flagship Store at 121 Greene Street in New York.
