Gucci Partners With Multimedia and Digital Collectibles Company Superplastic On Hybrid NFT Drop
Gucci has announced a special collaboration with Superplastic, a multimedia company specializing in NFTs and virtual experiences, on a series of limited edition NFTs. The collaboration is described as a partnership between Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele and “synthetic artists” Janky and Guggimon – two virtual characters who populate Superplastic’s virtual worlds.
For the three-part series of NFTs, synthetic artists Janky and Guggimon combine their digital style with Gucci’s historic codes. In the first release, the popular SuperJanky figure finds itself within ten different whimsical scenarios inspired by Gucci Aria.
The collaboration will be unveiled over the course of three drops, each with 50 NFTs available. Each digital purchase of an NFT will be accompanied by a real-life ceramic SuperJanky sculpture, hand-crafted by ceramicists in Italy.
The first collection of ten NFTs dropped February 1st on Superplastic and the Gucci Vault.
