Bottega Veneta today announces Shu Qi as Global Brand Ambassador. The internationally acclaimed Chinese actress joins the brand with an exclusive campaign, photographed by Sander Muylaert.
With a career spanning almost three decades, Shu Qi has delivered extraordinary performances in both box-office hits and cult art-house films. Among her many accolades, she was selected in the main competition of Cannes Film Festival for her roles in Millennium Mambo (2001), Three Times (2005) and The Assassin (2015), each directed by acclaimed film director Hou Hsiao-Hsien.
Shu Qi has received three Hong Kong Film Awards, two Golden Horse Awards for Best Actress, Best Actress at the Shanghai Film Critics’ Awards, Best Actress at the Huabiao Awards, and Best Actress at the Asian Film Festival. She has also served as a jury member of the main competition section at the Berlin International Film Festival (2008), Cannes International Film Festival (2009), and Venice International Film Festival (2023).
Shu Qi is the second cultural figure to join the Bottega Veneta family under the Creative Direction of Matthieu Blazy, following BTS’ RM in March. One of the most recognized public figures in China, her appointment builds on Bottega Veneta’s deep-rooted relation to the arts, and the brand’s core values.
Bottega Veneta inherits the classic spirit of Italian craftsmanship, invigorated with innovative creativity and a truly global outlook. There’s a cinematic quality to the design, with a beautiful sense of texture, detail, and movement. It’s a pleasure to represent such a rich heritage and distinct creative vision.
