Swedish Student Petra Fagerstrom Wins 10 Corso Como Capsule Collection Contest
Swedish student Petra Fagerstrom has emerged victorious in the A Signature for the Logo collection project contest. This collaboration between Italian concept store 10 Corso Como and Central Saint Martins saw 40 master’s fashion course students competing to create a genderless capsule collection featuring the retailer’s logo. The students were tasked with reinventing the shapes and colors of the store’s accessories collection, as well as playing with the logo’s signature rounded patterns in a contemporary manner. The project commenced in March, culminating in Fagerstrom’s victory being announced in London on Wednesday.
Fagerstrom was chosen from a pool of six finalists by Tiziana Fausti and Gianluca Borghi, president and CEO of 10 Corso Como, alongside a panel of international fashion experts. Among the esteemed jury members were British journalist Alexander Fury, Serena Tibaldi from La Repubblica, and Jordan Bowen and Luca Marcheto, the founders of the Jordanluca brand.
The bag designed by Fagerstrom drew inspiration from the 10 Corso Como pattern, utilizing eyelets and rivets to enhance an expandable fabric that can be adjusted for various situations. Fagerstrom’s next steps involve producing a collection for the retailer’s network and potentially signing a contract to design the new 10 Corso Como Signature collection.
This collaboration reflects 10 Corso Como’s strategic focus on expanding its global brand presence. Established in 1991 by Carla Sozzani and acquired by Fausti in September 2020, the retailer has been revitalizing its image. In addition to the flagship Milan store, which recently underwent renovations by 2050+, 10 Corso Como also has two locations in Seoul established in 2008 and 2012 respectively.
