Keith Credendino Steps Up as CIO Amid Strategic Overhaul
Macy’s Inc. has promoted Keith Credendino to chief information officer, effective August 4, following the retirement of Laura Miller. Previously serving as senior vice president of technology product development and customer experience, Credendino will now join Macy’s corporate strategy group and report directly to Adrian V. Mitchell, the chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
Mitchell highlighted Credendino’s pivotal role in the company’s growth strategy, “A Bold New Chapter.” “As our new CIO, Keith will continue to simplify and modernize our technology stack as part of our company’s growth strategy,” Mitchell stated, praising Credendino’s leadership style as “authentic, collaborative, and results-oriented.”
“A Bold New Chapter” aims to close around 150 underperforming stores by 2026, with 50 closures expected by the end of the fiscal year. The plan includes investing in approximately 350 profitable locations and expanding small-format chains like Bloomie’s, Bloomingdale’s outlets, and Backstage off-price units. Macy’s also plans to create a scalable technology platform, generating $600 million to $750 million from assets by 2026, and improve supply chain efficiency, inventory planning, and achieve low-single-digit annual comparable sales growth starting in 2025.
Credendino, who joined Macy’s Inc. in 2022, has been instrumental in enhancing the customer experience both in-store and online at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s. His team launched Macy’s digital marketplace, redesigned macys.com and bloomingdales.com, introduced online baby registries, and modernized the checkout experience.
Before joining Macy’s, Credendino held senior technology leadership roles at Inspire Brands, The Home Depot, InterContinental Hotels Group, and Cox Enterprises. Laura Miller, who joined Macy’s Inc. in 2021, has been acknowledged for her contributions to modernizing the company’s technology systems.
Mitchell expressed gratitude for Miller’s service, stating, “The entire Macy’s Inc. family wishes Laura well on her retirement and thanks her for the many accomplishments over her transformative tenure.”
