Review of Dior Holiday 2024 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri and Photographer Agnes Lloyd-Platt with models Edna Karibwami, Ji Shuyan, and Lucia Fairfull
Something magical has washed ashore in Dior’s latest holiday campaign. Captured by photographer Agnes Lloyd-Platt, the campaign highlights an aquatic new selection from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Cruise 2025 collection.
Lloyd-Platt’s imagery continues the theatrical and ethereal visual perspective of the house’s recent Cruise campaigns. Set designer Alice Kirkpatrick deserves a special nod for developing a sparkling world of undersea splendor, something between an oversized aquarium diorama and a surrealist theater production. Among this space, the collection itself creates both harmony and juxtaposition, extending the whimsical aquatic theme with pearls, nautical charms, and dripping jewels, while the black leather and tailoring counterbalance the aesthetic with a striking urban geometry.
Direct yet dreamlike, the campaign is a smart way to leverage both a lesser-seen aspect of the Cruise collection and the occasion of the holidays into an immersive new visual world, perfect for driving engagement around last-minute gifting.
