Louis Gabriel-Nouchi and Puma Launch Collaborative Shoe

LGN Puts an Innovative Spin on Puma’s Classic Mostro

Puma has unveiled a new collaboration with French independent designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi, introducing the Puma x LGN Mostro Mule. This updated design was first seen on the runway during Nouchi’s Spring 2025 presentation in Paris.

Nouchi’s reimagining of the Mostro, a Puma classic originally released in 1999, features a backless, slip-on design with a sleeker, more streamlined silhouette. It retains the distinctive spikes that are a hallmark of the original model. The updated mule is crafted from a single-material rubberized construction, available in simple, monochromatic colorways of white and black.

Commenting on his design approach, Nouchi said, “I synthesized the essence of the iconic Mostro shoes into a radical mule design using a single material, transforming it into both a design object and a comfortable sneaker.” This collaboration draws inspiration from the strength and agility of the puma, the big cat that is also the namesake of the brand.

The Mostro’s design elements reference vintage track and surfing footwear, and its unique appearance has established it as a street-style favorite over the past quarter-century. The name “Mostro” is derived from the Italian word for “monster,” reflecting its bold and unconventional style.

The Puma x LGN Mostro Mule will be released in the two color options starting 23 January through LGN, and from 25 January at selected retailers.
