Joël Hazan Will Take Over Flouquet’s Former Role as Chief Strategy and Development Officer
Kering is set to promote Mélanie Flouquet to the newly created role of general secretary as part of its efforts to enhance its governance and risk management strategies. The French conglomerate, which owns prestigious brands such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, and Bottega Veneta, aims to boost the integration of its regional operations and foster cross-functional teamwork.

Flouquet, who will assume her new position on March 1, will report directly to Jean-Marc Duplaix, deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer at Kering. She joined the company as chief strategy officer in 2021 after a 20-year tenure at JP Morgan, where she eventually became managing director of its luxury goods equity research team.
A dual graduate of EM Lyon and Lancaster University, Flouquet is also a chartered accountant in the U.K., with prior experience at KPMG.
Following Flouquet’s promotion, Joël Hazan, a seasoned professional from Boston Consulting Group, will step into the role of chief strategy and development officer, also starting on March 1. He will report to Francesca Bellettini, Kering’s deputy CEO responsible for brand development. In his new role, Hazan will focus on enhancing operational support across Kering’s labels, such as Boucheron and Pomellato, aiming to improve efficiency and propel the company’s business development goals. Hazan brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as a partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group in Paris, where he led its fashion and luxury practice and advised prominent companies in fashion, jewelry, and beauty.
