Gianfranco D’Attis Expected to Exit Prada CEO Role as Leadership Shifts Emerge
Gianfranco D’Attis is reportedly set to exit his role as Chief Executive Officer of Prada, according to industry sources. The move, said to take effect June 30, would mark a significant leadership shift at the Italian luxury house, with Prada Group CEO Andrea Guerra expected to assume the role on an interim basis.
While Prada has not issued an official announcement, insiders point to strategic disagreements between D’Attis and the company’s leadership as a key factor in the decision. His absence from the Spring 2026 menswear show in Milan this past weekend has further fueled speculation.
D’Attis, who joined Prada in January 2022, was the first non-family member to lead the brand as CEO. His appointment was part of a larger reorganization of the Prada Group, which also includes Miu Miu, Church’s, and Car Shoe. Previously, Chairman Patrizio Bertelli and Miuccia Prada had shared CEO duties across the group.
Bringing experience from Christian Dior Couture Americas and Jaeger-LeCoultre, D’Attis focused on strengthening Prada’s retail operations and positioning in key global markets, particularly the U.S. and China. He also oversaw the integration of new product categories, including home and jewelry, into the brand’s flagship stores.
In the first quarter of the year, Prada Group reported a 13 percent increase in total sales to €1.34 billion. While Prada’s retail sales held steady at €827 million, sister brand Miu Miu saw exceptional growth, rising 60 percent to €377 million.
The anticipated leadership transition comes as the group prepares for its €1.25 billion acquisition of Versace from Capri Holdings—a move confirmed earlier this year and indicative of Prada’s broader ambitions in the global luxury market.
