Review of Loewe Pre-Spring 2026 Accessories Ad Campaign by Photographer Carlijn Jacob

Loewe’s Pre-Spring 2026 accessories campaign feels like the kind of holiday dream only Jonathan Anderson’s Loewe universe could conjure — except this time, it’s filtered through the fresh perspective of newly appointed Creative Directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. Photographed by Carlijn Jacobs and brought to life by set designer Polly Philp, the campaign is a burst of chromatic wit: playful, surreal, and craft-driven in equal measure.
Jacobs’ lens turns handbags, shoes, and sculptural curios into eccentric tableaus of color and character. Against saturated backdrops, the Puzzle, Flamenco, and Amazona bags become protagonists in a cast of handcrafted oddities — toy-like ceramics, waxy candles, and feline figurines inspired by British artist Louis Wain, best known for his hallucinatory cat paintings. These surrealist muses lend the collection a hint of whimsy that borders on the absurd — a balance Loewe has long mastered, now newly energized under McCollough and Hernandez’s direction.

The duo’s debut season continues to push the boundaries between object and art, humor and high design. There’s something disarmingly joyful about seeing impeccable Spanish leather sitting alongside Wain’s futuristic cats, their painted eyes wide with mischief. It’s luxury at its most mischievous — unafraid of color, contradiction, or charm.
The credit, too, belongs to Philp’s staging: oversized candleholders, glossy ceramics, and surreal surfaces amplify Jacobs’ candy-coated lighting, making every product gleam like a collectible. This dialogue between modern craft and childlike wonder reaffirms Loewe’s role as fashion’s most art-literate house — one that understands that sophistication and silliness can, when balanced just right, be the same thing.
It’s a campaign that winks as much as it dazzles — a bright, knowing invitation into Loewe’s evolving world, where craftsmanship meets curiosity and every object hums with personality.
