Review of Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2024 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Matthieu Blazy
Bottega Veneta revels in the deceptively simple things with its new Pre-Fall 2024 campaign.
Further elevating the full collection lookbook that debuted at the same time, the campaign portraits are utterly simple, capturing an eclectic cast of subjects before an off-white backdrop with an off-white tile floor. The effect puts the focus entirely on Matthieu Blazy’s design work for this pre-season, which brings a bit more of an everyday perspective to his vision of craft in motion.
Nonetheless, the design and styling does still bring that unmistakably Blazy air of quietly progressive luxury. Signature intrecciato techniques are very much on display across bags and tailored garments, while the styling offers intriguing double-layer moments.
The simple approach to the campaign attests to Bottega Veneta’s well-deserved confidence: few brands have the ability to make such a minimal campaign look so interesting, but Blazy’s Bottega has earned enough clout that everyone’s eyes will be on it.
