Another High-Profile Change at Givenchy Follows New Creative Director and CEO Appointments
Givenchy has announced the appointment of Benjamin Cercio as its new Global Communications Director, effective immediately. Cercio comes to Givenchy with an impressive background in the industry, most notably his fruitful tenure at Louis Vuitton and recent stint at Gucci.
Cercio’s arrival at the Paris-based fashion house aligns with its transition into a new era of management under newly appointed Creative Director Sarah Burton, and CEO Alessandro Valenti. Cercio has a history with the latter, as they previously worked together at Louis Vuitton.
According to an internal Givenchy memo, Cercio will take charge of numerous responsibilities, including “overseeing the image, PR, events, digital, visual merchandising and heritage departments at global scale, coordinating with the regions.” Cercio will also be working closely with Burton and Valenti, as he aims to “enhance Givenchy’s global presence and brand identity.”
Cercio assumes the role in the wake of Valérie Leberichel’s departure, who had recently left Givenchy to assume her new role as Senior Vice President of Global Communications at Gucci.
Cercio will be carrying out his new responsibilities via his recently established brand-building and communication agency, Bencercio, where he will continue simultaneously to offer consulting services to other clients.
Cercio’ career saw him join Gucci in November 2022 after a successful tenure at Louis Vuitton, where he ascended the ranks to serve as the International Director of Press, Influencer, and Entertainment Relations. His skill set includes celebrity relations and securing entertainment endorsements. At Vuitton, he nurtured a robust network of talents, agents, stylists, and publicists, successfully signing brand ambassadors like Emma Stone, Léa Seydoux, Naomi Osaka, and Sophie Turner.
Sarah Burton, known for her meticulous design approach, striking tailoring, and empowering yet intricate dresses, is set to debut her first collections for Givenchy at Paris Fashion Week in March.
