Haider Ackermann Named as Canada Goose’s First Creative Director

The Renowned Designer Will Guide the Outerwear Brand Into Its Next Creative Era

Haider Ackermann has been named as the first creative director of Canada Goose. In the role, the designer will apply his creative touch to shape the future of Canada Goose product and elevate the brand’s creative aesthetic. He will remain based in Paris, where he will guide the company into its next era.

In addition to designing for his own namesake label since 2002, Ackermann has held creative director roles at Berluti, been approached to lead houses including Dior and Maison Margiela, and was tapped for Jean Paul Gaultier’s guest-designer haute couture series.

Launching on the the day of the announcement is an exclusive hoodie that Ackermann has designed in support of Polar Bears International, which is at the forefront of efforts to study, understand and protect polar bears and their declining habitat. The hoodie, available in four colorways, is made from organic cotton and 100% of proceeds from the sale of the sweatshirt will go to PBI to fund vital research, implement innovative conservation strategies, and educate communities about the importance of protecting the Arctic.

This launch is celebrated with a campaign starring Jane Fonda, who is also an outspoken activist on environmental issues. The iconic actor was lensed for the campaign by photographer Willy Vanderperre.
