Focus on High-End Emerging Labels in Paris, London, and Beyond
Julien Dufour, a seasoned communications professional, has launched a new boutique agency, Spread the Word, with offices in both Paris and London. The agency will provide a range of public relations and advisory services for fashion and lifestyle brands, with a particular focus on high-end emerging labels based in Paris and international brands from South Korea, Australia, and the U.K. seeking to enter the European market.
After a decade at Karla Otto, where he most recently served as Vice President of Communications, Dufour is branching out on his own. His new agency will also offer showroom activities and aims to cater to brands navigating the rapidly changing landscape of brand communication.
Dufour, who holds a master’s degree in marketing and management services from EM Lyon and a master’s degree in French and British law from Paris Nanterre University, brings significant experience to his new venture. His career at Karla Otto included managing accounts for major brands like Rimowa, Calvin Klein, Swarovski, and Loro Piana, as well as working with emerging designers such as Egonlab, Alainpaul, and Germanier.
In addition to his PR expertise, Dufour has firsthand experience in the fashion industry, having co-founded a menswear label in the early 2010s. He has also been actively involved in the ANDAM Fashion Award, further cementing his connection to the emerging designer scene.
Spread the Word’s first hire is Marie Montiglio, who previously worked at Lucien Pages and AMI, where she was Global Press Relations Manager. Starting in late October, Montiglio will lead the agency’s press activities and oversee influence and VIP initiatives.
The London office of Spread the Word is located in Marylebone, while the Paris branch is situated in the 10th arrondissement.
