Louis Vuitton celebrated the launch of the Spring 2024 Men’s Capsule Collection in collaboration with Tyler, The Creator with an evening event at the Masion’s Men’s Store on Rodeo Drive. Guests included Tyler, The Creator, Donald Glover, Barry Keoghan, Steven Yeun, Jaden Smith, Peso Pluma, Julez Smith Jr., Cam Hicks, Paul Downs, Lionel Boyce, A$AP Nast, Travis Bennett and many more, with music from DJ Blondie Beach.
The Rodeo Drive Men’s store has been transformed to visualize the collection in the spirit of Tyler, The Creator’s interpretation of the House Codes, creating an immersive springtime fantasy. A gigantic, oversized Airedale Terrier stands guard over the space measuring approximately 15 feet tall—a nod to the recurring motif in the visual universe of Tyler. Adding to the whimsy are a mid-air propeller plane and a soap box derby car derived from an iconic Louis Vuitton trunk, covered in the colorful Craggy Monogram hand-drawn by the artist himself in shades of chocolate, vanilla, and patisserie pastels. Tyler, The Creator is a native of Los Angeles, and the Rodeo Store activation is the only dedicated space to the collection globally.
The collection brings together the aesthetic lexicon of Tyler, The Creator and Louis Vuitton, marking Pharrell Williams’ first capsule collaboration since becoming Men’s Creative Director. A fusion of the signature preppy sophistication popularized by the artist with Williams’ elegant dandy approach, the capsule collection is expressed in trans-seasonal silhouettes reflecting the colors, weather, and activities associated with spring. The capsule spans métiers, including accessories, jewelry, leather goods, sporting goods, ready-to-wear, shoes, travel and the Maison’s iconic hardsided trunks.
