The one-night program combined live performance, listening culture, and creative exchange across multiple venues
Miu Miu marked the reopening of its Ginza store in Tokyo on May 13 with “Miu Miu Jazz Club,” an event dedicated to music, cultural dialogue, and contemporary interpretations of Japanese jazz culture.
The evening began with a cocktail reception at the newly redesigned Ginza boutique before continuing across two venues, Dance Hall Shinseiki and Tokyo Kinema Club. Conceived around the traditions of Japanese jazz and kissaten listening culture, the program explored the role of women in shaping and expanding the genre’s identity within Japan’s postwar cultural landscape.
At Dance Hall Shinseiki, a preserved Showa-era ballroom, performances focused on the immediacy and improvisational nature of jazz. The lineup included pianist and composer Hiromi, Tokyo-based multi-instrumentalist Lily, and trumpeter and producer Reiya Terakubo. The event later moved to Tokyo Kinema Club, where references to cabaret and early cinema informed the atmosphere of the afterparty, concluding with a performance by Arlo Parks.
Guests attending the event included Asuka Saito, Chara, Elaiza Ikeda, Haru Kuroki, HARVEY of XG, Hikari Mori, Jang Wonyoung, and Non, among others.
The Jazz Club continues Miu Miu’s broader strategy of linking fashion with cultural programming, using music and live events to reinforce its engagement with artistic communities and conversations around female creative expression.
