Louis Vuitton Unveils Men’s Temporary Residency in Soho NY

Louis Vuitton unveils part 2 of the Men’s Temporary Residency in Soho. The Soho Temporary Residency is a limited-edition installation dedicated to Louis Vuitton’s most iconic sneakers, jewelry, and sunglasses created by Men’s Artistic Director, Virgil Abloh.

The installation is the latest in a global series of Men’s fashion events dubbed Louis Vuitton: Walk in the Park, and the first in the US. The Temporary Residency previews the pre-launch of the Men’s Fall-Winter 2021 latest ready-to-wear, accessories, leather goods and gifting items.

Clients are invited to experience house icons up close and immerse themselves in their creative evolution. The public experiences expand on existing concepts and icons conceived for the House by Virgil Abloh. Rooted in the inclusive values at the heart of his work, the happenings are an expression of the mutual connectivity that exists between the designer and his community.

The Temporary Residency debuts neon arches inspired by Paris’ Pont Neuf, with color-coded nuances of the rainbow throughout, a nod to the set of Virgil Abloh’s debut show for Louis Vuitton for Spring-Summer 2019. Collectors’ items in their own right, the chosen designs for A Walk in the Park are continuously coveted by the global community formed by the Artistic Director since his arrival at Louis Vuitton.

With limited edition drops every week, Virgil Abloh’s legendary sneakers take center stage. Styles exclusive to the Temporary Residency will be offered alongside a full complement of recently launched sneakers, all attesting to the Artistic Director’s unique vision. Icons in the grammar of Virgil Abloh at Louis Vuitton, the Cuban chains and

Millionaires sunglasses adapted to each collection are exhibited and offered for purchase. The featured chain-link jewelry follows the color-coded rainbow motif central to the visual experience, including a necklace and bracelet exclusive to the Temporary Residency.

The collection at the Temporary Residency investigates the unconscious biases instilled in our collective psyche by the archaic norms of society. Predetermined perceptions, they imbue our outlooks with manmade myths connected to the genetics of people, ideas and art. Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director, Virgil Abloh, employs fashion as a tool to change those preconceptions: keep the codes, but change the values.

Outerwear, as well as denim and accessories from the collection will all be on view. Distinctive leather goods collections including LV Mirror Mirror and Everyday LV Leather will be available, alongside a suite of accessories, boots and sneakers.
