The latest edition of the program reworks vintage garments through archival references and handcrafted interventions, reinforcing the brand’s long-term commitment to circular design
Miu Miu has unveiled its 2026 Upcycled collection alongside a new campaign featuring singer, actress, and model Suki Waterhouse. First presented at the brand’s Ginza flagship in Tokyo on May 13 during Miu Miu Jazz Club, the collection became available in selected stores worldwide on May 18, continuing the house’s ongoing exploration of circular fashion and garment reinvention.

The latest iteration of Miu Miu Upcycled centers on two wardrobe staples: the white cotton shirt and khaki cotton chinos. Sourced in limited quantities through vintage specialists around the world, each garment is restored and transformed through a process of reconstruction and embellishment that gives every piece a unique identity. The project reflects Miu Miu’s broader interest in preserving the character of existing garments while adapting them for contemporary wear.
Throughout the collection, traditional silhouettes are reimagined through altered proportions and unexpected construction techniques. Trousers are converted into jackets, skirts, and bustiers, while shirts are reconstructed as dresses and apron tops. Additional interventions include aged leather collars, embroidered crystal floral motifs, replacement buttons, ribbon detailing, and reworked pockets. Accessories follow a similar approach, with backpacks, pouches, and Plume sneakers updated through embroidery, custom trims, and personalized details.
The accompanying campaign, photographed by Alasdair McLellan with art direction by Christopher Simmonds and styling by Lotta Volkova, places Waterhouse within a minimal studio environment defined by blue and khaki tones. The imagery emphasizes gesture, posture, and expression, creating a dialogue between the garments’ histories and their renewed forms. Pieces from the Upcycled collection are styled alongside looks from the Miu Miu Spring 2026 collection, further connecting past and present within a single visual narrative.

Under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada, Miu Miu Upcycled has evolved into one of the industry’s most visible luxury circular fashion initiatives. By transforming existing garments rather than producing entirely new materials, the program highlights growing interest across the luxury sector in extending product lifecycles while preserving craftsmanship and individuality. As sustainability continues to shape both consumer expectations and brand strategy, Upcycled remains a key expression of Miu Miu’s approach to innovation through reinvention.
