Unique Celebration of Sport and Culture at Centre Pompidou
In preparation for the Paris Olympics, Nike is teaming up with the iconic Centre Pompidou to launch the “Art of Victory” exhibition. The exhibit will focus on Nike’s Air franchise, paying homage to the site that inspired the design of the Air Max 1 nearly 40 years ago.
Transforming the facade of the Centre Pompidou into a canvas, Nike will showcase stories of sport in a bold and disruptive manner. Tinker Hatfield, the designer behind the Air Max 1, emphasized the importance of taking risks and being disruptive to garner attention.
As part of the partnership, a public and skateable sculpture named “Cycloid Piazza,” created by French artist Raphaël Zarka and architect Jean-Benoît Vétillard, will be on display at the Centre Pompidou with support from Nike.
The exhibition, running from Wednesday to August 11, will also feature daily programming focused on running, basketball, global football, skate, and breaking experiences. Additionally, access to the Centre Pompidou’s exhibitions and permanent collection will be free for individuals under 26 years old during this period.
