Natural Beauty Defined by Comfort in Peet Dullaert’s Couture Show

Post of his sophomore couture show in Paris, Dutch designer Peet Dullaert emphasized the concept of natural beauty in his collection.

Continuing from last season, Dullaert focused on working with the body rather than against it in his designs. His collection featured structured jackets, craft-intensive knit pieces, and curve-hugging dresses, creating a cohesive lineup of outfits. Standout pieces included a beaded black dress spliced with a blazer at the neckline, a fitted sleeveless vest with shoulder flourishes resembling a puff sleeve, and a column dress with a bolt of yellow silk and a corset closure at the back.

Experimenting with Tencel Luxe, now available as a crêpe de chine, Dullaert praised its quality and sustainable credentials. Through his casting choices, he aimed to emphasize that his work is for every body. The show opened with Danielle Slavik, a former house model for Cristóbal Balenciaga, followed by friends of the house like dancer Marco Bozzato and fashion consultant Syra Schenk.

Dullaert emphasized the individuality and expression that fashion represents, stating, “This is for me what fashion really is about. It’s really that expression of individuality, next to the clothing, that doesn’t need to fit a certain narrative.”
