Launches new 'Le 61' Handbag

Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent has tapped into the house’s heritage to launch their latest icon handbag ‘Le 61.’

The bag is named after the year Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé founded the house and is designed to be as classic and timeless as the house itself. It was formed around clean lines with an oval shield covered in leather and embossed with the YSL monogram. The handbag opens at $2,250 US and is available in shiny calf textured leather.

As our readers know we typically don’t write about product launches, but we feel it important to cover products designed as icons with ‘tradedress‘ to support the marketing and branding efforts of the house. Plus, the bag was teased earlier with the launch of the Jurgen Teller shot Saint Laurent Spring 2019 ad campaign which leveraged the setting of Lake Como to full advantage.

And with a name like ‘Le 61,’ we are confident enthusiastic fans of Saint Laurent will come up with 61 reasons to purchase the new icon.
