The exhibition marks the first presentation at Saint Laurent Montaigne, highlighting Martine Bedin’s multidisciplinary practice through a selection curated by Anthony Vaccarello
Saint Laurent Rive Droite has opened 1980 – 2023 – 2025, an exhibition of works by French artist and designer Martine Bedin, at Saint Laurent Montaigne in Paris. Curated by Anthony Vaccarello, the exhibition runs from July 3 through October 14 and marks the first exhibition presented at the location, further expanding Saint Laurent’s investment in cultural programming beyond fashion.

The exhibition traces Bedin’s multidisciplinary career through a selection of works spanning more than four decades, from her early drawings created during her time with the influential Memphis group in Milan to recent paintings and sculptures. A founding member of the Memphis movement in the early 1980s, Bedin helped redefine contemporary design by emphasizing the expressive and symbolic qualities of objects over purely functional concerns.
Across the exhibition, everyday objects are removed from their intended purpose and reimagined as autonomous forms, creating a dialogue between reality and abstraction. The presentation reflects Bedin’s ongoing exploration of design, painting, and sculpture while highlighting the continuity of her visual language across different mediums.
Bedin’s work has been exhibited at leading international institutions including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Milan Triennale, Centre Pompidou, SFMOMA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, M+ Museum of Visual Culture, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. She is represented by Crèvecœur Gallery, and a selection of works from the exhibition will be available for purchase.
The exhibition continues Saint Laurent Rive Droite’s strategy of positioning its retail spaces as cultural destinations, using exhibitions, art, design, and creative collaborations to extend the house’s identity beyond fashion. By bringing Bedin’s work to Saint Laurent Montaigne, the house reinforces its commitment to fostering dialogue between contemporary art, design, and luxury retail.
