Long Time Collaborators Enter Into A Mutually Beneficial Acquisition
VF Corp scooped up Supreme, a longtime collaborator, for $2.1 Billion. The deal is expected to finalize before the end of the year.
This is a mutually beneficial acquisition. Supreme and the brands that make up VF Corp share many customers allowing Supreme to extend and solidify VF’s consumer base. VF Corp in return will apply its mature supply chain, international and digital sales platforms, and consumer information to grow the Supreme brand. Moreover, VF Corp expects Supreme to generate at least $500 Million in revenue by 2022.

Their shared consumer base is evidenced by how often Supreme collaborated with brands like Vans, Timberland, and The North Face–all brands owned by VF Corp. Most recently, Supreme dropped a collaboration capsule with The North Face in Fall 2020. The collaboration featured a cold-weather North Face jacket emblazoned with a large ‘S’. On top of this collaboration, just in the last year we have seen Supreme Timberland boots and Vans.
Supreme’s leadership team and James Jubbia will continue to run the operation, and they will remain based in NYC.
Here is what the leaders of the two brands had to say about the acquisition:
We are thrilled to welcome Supreme to the VF family and to build on our decades-long relationship as we create value for all of our stakeholders. VF is the ideal steward to honor the authentic heritage of this cultural lifestyle brand while providing the opportunity to leverage our scale and expertise to enable sustainable long-term growth.
Steve Rendle, CEO of VF Corp
We are proud to join VF, a world-class company that is home to great brands we’ve worked with for years, including The North Face, Vans, and Timberland. This partnership will maintain our unique culture and independence, while allowing us to grow on the same path we’ve been on since 1994.
James Jebbia, Founder of Supreme

While this acquisition is a great opportunity for VF Corp brands to collaborate Supreme even more, the famous streetwear brand will continue to collaborate with brands outside of the VF Corp portfolio.
