The Miami Design District store is one of four Zimmermann Opens A New Store In The Miami Design District stores in Florida with the opening of Naples in April, 2022 and Tampa in July, 2022. Zimmermann opened its first Florida store in Bal Harbour in 2017. The brand will have sixteen stores in the U.S by July 2022.
In keeping with the brand’s Australian roots, the Miami Design District store is designed by Studio McQualter and is a physical embodiment of the Zimmermann Opens A New Store In The Miami Design District brand – relaxed femininity, an air of freshness and light, and unyielding optimism.
Zimmermann Opens A New Store In The Miami Design District Miami Design District is 2,354 square-feet and located at 184 NE 40th St.
The store includes a mix of vintage furniture and lighting pieces that have been selected to complement the fresh contemporary space. The Australian artworks have been chosen to share the optimistic energy of Zimmermann with Miami.
Daylight is filtered by a screen wall designed specifically to evoke classic modernist Miami architecture. The store walls are made from reclaimed materials and large wall lights salvaged from a 1950’s cinema in Paris emphasize the height of the space. A metallic ceiling finish is reminiscent of the Warhol era and classic terrazzo floors heighten the Miami feel. Exposed ceiling structures and metal framed windows with glazing filter the light and create privacy.
It’s really exciting for us to open at the Design District – it’s such a fun and energetic part of Miami and it’s really developed into one of the most creative and exciting lifestyle locations in the world. Our store is bright and welcoming – it’s a place you want to spend time in and explore. I love the mix of vintage furniture and light fittings. We have continued to support Australian artists with our art selection and the mix of works really supports the optimistic energy we want to bring to Miami and the store.”– Creative Director & Co-Founder, Nicky Zimmermann
