The 14Th Edition Unfolds At Hotel Chelsea As An Immersive Exploration Of Connection, Image, And Storytelling
Prada is bringing Prada Mode to New York for its 14th iteration, staging a multi-day cultural activation at the Hotel Chelsea in conjunction with the Tribeca Festival. Titled Satellites II, the project is developed in collaboration with Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn and Japanese video game creator Hideo Kojima, expanding on their ongoing creative dialogue first introduced in the 2025 exhibition Satellites.

Conceived as an immersive, site-specific experience, Satellites II unfolds across the layered architecture of the historic hotel, moving between public, domestic, and more intimate spaces. The installation reflects a tension between private and collective experience, reinterpreting the Chelsea’s storied interiors through a sci-fi-inflected lens that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking.
During the private members’ program, held June 3 and 4, selected rooms are transformed into micro television studios hosting original performances for invited guests. These spaces are subsequently reopened to the public from June 5 through 7, shifting into installations that alter both their function and perception. Additional interventions extend beyond the hotel into locations across New York, reinforcing the project’s expansive, city-wide dimension.
At its core, Satellites II explores communication and human connection through the exchange of ideas, images, and obsessions between Refn and Kojima. Their collaboration bridges film and gaming, narrative and interaction, probing how meaning is constructed across different languages, cultures, and media.
A live cultural program accompanies the installation, including talks, screenings, performances, concerts, and reimagined television formats, alongside curated culinary experiences. Together, these elements form a layered environment that reflects Prada Mode’s evolving role as both private members’ club and public-facing platform.
Since its debut at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2018, Prada Mode has functioned as a nomadic extension of the brand’s cultural agenda, bringing together artists, architects, filmmakers, and thinkers across global cities. With Satellites II, Prada continues to position the format as a space for interdisciplinary exchange, where fashion operates as a conduit for broader conversations around image, storytelling, and contemporary culture.
