BOTTEGA VENETA LAUNCHES RICHARD SCARRY CAPSULE COLLECTION

Bottega Veneta Launches Richard Scarry Capsule

The Collection of Accessories Reflects Matthieu Blazy’s Childhood Love of the Iconic Author and Illustrator

Bottega Veneta has launched a new capsule collection celebrating the iconic work of beloved American author and illustrator Richard Scarry. Known for his richly detailed children’s books, including the Best Ever series, Scarry’s world of whimsical, anthropomorphic characters and community-centered narratives has delighted generations.

The collection, unveiled on November 24, reflects creative director Matthieu Blazy’s personal connection to Scarry’s work. “Scarry’s books were a beloved source of childhood imagination and remain a well of inspiration and joy,” said Blazy. Drawing from the sense of discovery and wonder that characterized Bottega Veneta’s Summer 2025 collection, this tribute pays homage to Scarry’s enduring legacy.

At the center of the collection is a special edition of Biggest Word Book Ever, a large-format book measuring 62.5 x 52.5 cm, featuring a cover crafted in Bottega Veneta’s signature printed Intrecciato leather. The design is based on a 2013 reissue of Scarry’s classic work, first published in 1985, and stars Lowly Worm, one of the illustrator’s most recognizable characters. Lowly, with his Tyrolean hat, red bowtie, colorful body tube, and singular shoe, was described by Blazy as wearing “the best outfit in the world.”

The book’s interior mirrors the 2013 edition but includes a bespoke Bottega Veneta Ex Libris sticker on the first page. A companion sketchbook version, featuring the same Intrecciato Lowly Worm cover, offers blank pages for personal creativity and includes a tag for customization.

Extending the playful aesthetic of Scarry’s universe, the capsule also introduces a range of accessories. These include a striped version of Bottega Veneta’s Intrecciato Dust Bag, inspired by Scarry’s signature color palette, alongside a striped belt, an apple-shaped buckle belt, striped wallets, and a cardholder.
