The retailer debuts Matthieu Blazy’s first Métiers d’art collection for Chanel with an exclusive Fifth Avenue takeover

Bergdorf Goodman is giving Chanel’s Métiers d’art 2026 collection an early debut, becoming the first retailer to present Matthieu Blazy’s inaugural Métiers d’art offering for the House ahead of its global launch.
Beginning May 27, the New York luxury retailer will offer a one-week exclusive preview of the collection, featuring a curated selection of ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, and shoes alongside an immersive transformation of Bergdorf Goodman’s iconic Fifth Avenue windows.
Inspired by Chanel’s Métiers d’art 2026 runway presentation staged within the New York City subway system, the window installation recreates the sensation of a train moving through a station via panoramic multi-screen displays. The cinematic concept connects the energy and movement of New York with the artisanal craftsmanship traditionally celebrated through Chanel’s annual Métiers d’art collections, which since 2002 have honored the savoir-faire of the House’s specialist ateliers and Maisons d’art.

The project also introduces one of the first large-scale retail presentations of Matthieu Blazy’s vision for Chanel following his arrival at the House. Bergdorf Goodman president Tracy Margolies described the launch as reflecting a shared commitment between the retailer and Chanel to craftsmanship, creativity, and artistic presentation.
To accompany the launch, Bergdorf Goodman produced original editorial imagery photographed by Krisztian Eder featuring model Penelope Ternes throughout Manhattan. Styled against the backdrop of Fifth Avenue, the campaign highlights key looks from the collection including bouclé tweed tailoring, cotton-blend dresses, velvet capes, and flowing skirts that reinterpret classic Chanel codes through Blazy’s evolving perspective.
Clients are able to experience the collection through private appointments within dedicated Chanel spaces on the first and second floors of Bergdorf Goodman’s women’s store, reinforcing luxury retail’s increasing emphasis on immersive storytelling and exclusivity around major collection debuts.
