Fashion Trust Arabia Announces India as 2025 Guest Country

FTA to highlight India’s textile heritage and emerging fashion talent in next year’s awards

At the Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) Awards on October 24 in Marrakech, Isha Ambani joined FTA co-chairs Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Tania Fares to announce India as the Guest Country for the 2025 FTA Awards. This collaboration aims to highlight India’s deep-rooted textile heritage, growing global fashion influence, and focus on elevating emerging designers.

As the Guest Country, India’s role at FTA 2025 will involve cross-cultural exchange, offering selected designers financial support, access to a global network, and mentorship from international experts. Since introducing the Guest Country Award in 2021, FTA has celebrated fashion talent from Colombia, Turkey, Nigeria, and Spain. India will join this list in 2025, continuing the organization’s focus on bridging cultures through fashion.

Co-chair Tania Fares commented on the announcement, saying, “I am thrilled to welcome India as Fashion Trust Arabia’s Guest Country for 2025 with the support of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. Their commitment to showcasing India’s rich artistic heritage and supporting local talents will ensure that this partnership is a huge success. Together, we will celebrate India’s remarkable contributions to global fashion!”

The partnership is expected to leave a significant impact, blending traditional and modern Indian aesthetics to encourage new dialogues within global fashion. The application process for Indian designers interested in participating will begin in January 2025. The winner will be selected and announced during the awards ceremony in October 2025 in Doha, Qatar.
