Kerby Jean-Raymond Exits Reebok

The Pyer Moss Designer Will Step Down From His Role As Reebok’s Global Creative Director Following Changes in Ownership

American designer Kerby Jean-Raymond has announced plans to step down from his role as global creative director of Reebok in March 2022. Jean-Raymond, also the founder and creative director of his own label Pyer Moss, has held the position at Reebok since September 2020.

The CFDA award-winning designer has worked with Reebok since 2017 on projects including his Reebok by Pyer Moss collaboration and the ‘Product with Purpose’ program, which was launched last year as part of the brand’s United Against Racism initiative. “I enjoyed my time with Reebok and wish the company well in all of its future endeavors,” Jean-Raymond said in a statement. The final release from Reebok by Pyer Moss will be shared later next month, and he will leave the group on March 1st.

The move comes after shake ups in ownership for Reebok. After struggling to revive the brand, former owner Adidas sold it to Authentic Brands Group for €2.1 billion in August. Authentic Brands Group, which licenses and distributes brands including Juicy Couture, has since signed an agreement with JD Sports Group to sell Reebok products in its stores across Europe and the United States.

Reebok president Matt O’Toole said: “The positive impact he has made on the brand will be felt for years to come. We wish him the very best.” Reebok has not yet announced who will take on the role of creative director next.
