The House’s Multimedia Performance Project Will Make Its Next Stop at Miami’s Coconut Grove
This spring, Hermès will introduce its “On the Wings of Hermès” performance to Miami, set to be hosted at the Hangar at Regatta Harbour in the Coconut Grove neighborhood. This multimedia project, which debuted in Paris in March 2022, has already been showcased in cities such as Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, and Shanghai.
The performance is described as “cinematographic” and results from a collaboration between Hermès, the Belgian creative duo Jaco Van Dormael and Michèle Anne De Mey, and the Astragales dance company. The narrative, inspired by the fable of Pegasus, unfolds through a seven-part series involving dance, music, puppetry, and cinema. The production takes place on miniature theater stages within the hangar, with scenes performed live and simultaneously projected onto large screens for the audience to view.
Diane Mahady, President and CEO of Hermès Americas, expressed her enthusiasm for the event’s upcoming iteration in Miami. “We are thrilled to bring ‘On the Wings of Hermès’ to the Miami area, continuing its worldwide journey as a beautiful showcase of handcrafted artistry, limitless creativity, and whimsy,” she said. “Created in collaboration with Astragales, we are sure our friends and clients will be captivated by this immersive storytelling experience.”
“On the Wings of Hermès” is scheduled to open in Miami on April 18 and will run until April 27, featuring daily shows at 2, 4, and 7 p.m. The performances are open to the public free of charge, with registration available through the Hermès homepage.
