Stella McCartney Launches Yoshitomo Nara Collaboration

McCartney teams with the iconic Japanese artist for a non-binary capsule celebrating the spirit of youth

Stella McCartney announces a new capsule collection created in collaboration with Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara. It is the first-ever fashion collaboration for the artist, who has garnered international acclaim over the nearly 40 solo exhibitions of his career.

Bridging art and subculture and street culture, Yoshitomo Nara is fluent in the style of youth in revolt, with a signature punk attitude celebrating non-conformity, free thought, and individuality. His work sets the tone for the collection, youthfully disrupting iconic styles with novel twists.

The capsule has a positive and revolutionary spirit, both in its creation and its look.

Each piece is created with an environmentally-conscious approach, and all the styles are conceived and designed as post-gender. Nara’s bright, youthful visuals and rebellious sloganeering embody this forward-thinking spirit.

The collection will form an important part of the brand’s upcoming Spring 2021 campaigns, which star a diverse group of next-gen creatives who embody Stella McCartney’s spirit of progressivism and positivity.
