The Oak Street Store Occupies an 1890s Building and Features Curated Artwork Alongside the House’s Latest Collections
Loewe has expanded its presence by setting up a new store in Chicago on Oak Street. The luxury Spanish brand’s new store spans two floors of an 1890s building, covering 2,594 square feet. The store offers a wide range of women’s ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, small leather goods, sunglasses, and other accessories, alongside a rotating collection of art pieces.
The store forms the latest example of the Casa Loewe retail concept curated by creative director Jonathan Anderson. The space boasts hand-crafted ceramic tiles, a sweeping staircase with a Georgian-inspired wooden handrail, and a color palette of deep blue, aquamarine, and brown. The interior design highlights warm natural materials such as concrete, marble, and oak to complement the space’s artwork.
The store’s furniture selection includes Utrecht armchairs, wooden and felt Berin chairs, a black terrazzo table, a tufted leather bench, iron martini tables, ceramic vessels, and a Noguchi lamp. Four bespoke wool carpets featuring reproductions of rural landscapes by British textile artist John Allen adorn the space, along with hand-selected pieces from Loewe’s global art collection.
Notable artworks on display include pieces by British artist Lorna Robertson, Los Angeles-based collage artist Richard Hawkins, and New York painter Altoon Sultan. Loewe’s expansion in Chicago comes after recent store openings in Houston, Bal Harbour, and Boston earlier this year.
