Alexandra Winokur Named Deputy CEO Of LVMH Americas

Former Dior Americas President Steps Into Expanded Regional Role As Anish Melwani Exits

LVMH has appointed Alexandra Winokur as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of its North American division, reinforcing its leadership structure in one of its most important markets.

Winokur, who has served as President of Christian Dior Couture Americas since 2023, will assume the role on Monday, reporting to Michael Burke, Chairman and CEO of LVMH Americas. She succeeds Anish Melwani, who is leaving the group after a decade to pursue other opportunities. Melwani will remain through April to support the transition.

In her new position, Winokur is expected to work closely with Burke to drive growth and coordination across the region, with a particular focus on client experience, retail development, and digital innovation. “She will strengthen the community of local brand presidents, providing direction on key topics such as client experience, retail and digital innovation to foster and accelerate the group’s local ambitions,” LVMH said in a statement.

A veteran of the luxury and retail sectors, Winokur has held senior roles across several LVMH brands, including Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co., as well as Marc Jacobs. Her career began in finance, first at Goldman Sachs and later at Guggenheim, where she played a role in launching Tory Burch. She later joined the brand, holding leadership positions across retail and e-commerce.

Her appointment comes at a time when North America remains a strategically critical market for LVMH, even amid ongoing challenges including tariffs, distribution complexities, and pricing pressures. In 2025, the U.S. was the group’s best-performing region, with sales holding steady despite a 1 percent organic decline at the group level. LVMH operates more than 1,200 stores in the U.S. and employs nearly 42,000 people across the region.

Melwani’s departure marks the end of a significant tenure during which LVMH expanded its retail and manufacturing footprint in North America. Notably, the group opened a Louis Vuitton leather goods workshop in Texas in 2019, part of a broader effort to localize production and strengthen its presence in the U.S.

“North America is of paramount strategic importance to LVMH and the enduring desirability of our maisons,” said Burke. “I am pleased to welcome Alexandra, who will undoubtedly help us further grow our presence and uphold our uncompromising standards of excellence throughout our operations.”

The leadership change reflects LVMH’s continued focus on reinforcing its regional structure as it navigates a complex operating environment while maintaining growth across its portfolio of brands.
