Rickie De Sole Joins Vestiaire Collective Board of Directors

Rickie De Sole Takes Dual Roles at Air Mail and Sandbridge Capital

The move marks a return to editorial following four years in retail at Nordstrom

Rickie De Sole is set to take on two new roles as she prepares to depart Nordstrom, where she has served as vice president and fashion director for the past four years.

De Sole will join Air Mail as editor of style and fashion, a newly created position at the weekly digital magazine founded by Graydon Carter and Alessandra Stanley. In this role, she will oversee the development and editorial strategy of fashion coverage, producing a weekly column and newsletter focused on “insights on global fashion and cultural moments defining the industry,” she said.

“I’ve long admired Air Mail’s unique editorial voice and style that has captivated the most worldly and sophisticated readers,” De Sole added. She will report to editor in chief Julia Vitale, who described her as bringing “an exceptional combination of editorial instinct, retail expertise, deep industry relationships and an undeniable eye for style.”

Alongside her editorial appointment, De Sole has also been named senior adviser at Sandbridge Capital, a Los Angeles-based investment firm specializing in beauty, fashion, luxury, and wellness. In this capacity, she will work with the firm to identify high-growth consumer brands. Sandbridge’s portfolio includes Peach & Lily, U Beauty, R.E.M. Beauty and Rossignol, and has previously backed brands such as Thom Browne and Derek Lam.

De Sole’s move marks a return to editorial after a period in retail. Prior to Nordstrom, she held roles including executive fashion director at Vogue.com, fashion director at W magazine, and accessories director at Vogue. She currently serves on the board of Vestiaire Collective.

“I have moved between commerce and editorial in the past so this felt like a natural evolution of the path,” De Sole said, noting her interest in creating stories that feel “insider but are still accessible.”

Nordstrom has not yet named her successor.
