The exhibition celebrates 20 years of Espaces Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton is marking two key milestones—20 years of its Espaces Louis Vuitton and a decade of the Fondation Louis Vuitton’s Hors-les-murs program—with a new exhibition in Beijing dedicated to French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel.

Titled Dazzling Trilogy, the exhibition opens at Espace Louis Vuitton Beijing and brings together a selection of Othoniel’s installation works drawn from the Fondation’s collection. As part of the Hors-les-murs initiative, the show continues the foundation’s mission to extend its artistic programming globally, presenting works across its international cultural spaces in cities including Tokyo, Venice, Seoul, and Munich.
At the core of Othoniel’s practice is his exploration of glass, a material he adopted in the mid-1990s as a shift toward light, transparency, and transformation. His work is rooted in collaboration with artisans and shaped by an openness to unpredictability, where gesture and material processes play a defining role in the final form.
The exhibition highlights the breadth of his visual language, where references to poetry, psychoanalysis, and spiritual symbolism converge. Works such as Lágrimas (2002) and Le Bateau de Larmes (2004) evoke themes of memory, migration, and contemplation, transforming fragility into a poetic and reflective force.
In its final section, the exhibition presents a dialogue between two major works: White Wild Lei (2009), a monumental glass necklace inspired by gestures of welcome and remembrance, and Rivière Rose (2026), a site-specific installation composed of luminous pink glass bricks that unfold across the floor like a flowing river. Together, these works create an immersive environment shaped by light, color, and movement, inviting visitors into a contemplative spatial experience.
Running from April 15 to September 6, 2026, the exhibition underscores Louis Vuitton’s ongoing investment in cultural programming, positioning its global spaces as platforms for contemporary art and cross-disciplinary dialogue.
