Sephora Names Catherine Spindler as New Regional President

Sephora Appoints Former Lacoste Executive Catherine Spindler as President

Sephora has named Catherine Spindler as its new president for Europe and the Middle East, effective January 27. Spindler succeeds Sylvie Moreau and will report directly to Guillaume Motte, Sephora’s global President and CEO under parent company LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

In an internal memo, Motte outlined Spindler’s mission to drive Sephora’s growth across the region, stating, “She will continue writing Sephora’s growth trajectory in Europe and the Middle East with our talented teams, gaining market share in this historic region for Sephora. Catherine will elevate our brand and customer experience across all touchpoints, while reinforcing loyalty.”

Spindler brings extensive global retail expertise to her new role. She joined Lacoste in 2019, serving on its executive team as deputy CEO and previously as chief brand officer. Before Lacoste, she held leadership positions at Vente-Privée Group, including vice president of group customer experience and managing director for France. Spindler also managed Yves Rocher’s expansion into Asia during her tenure with Rocher Group, where she eventually became vice president on the Dr. Pierre Ricaud executive committee.

Notably, Spindler’s career began with LVMH at Guerlain, offering her a deep familiarity with Sephora’s parent company. She holds a degree from EDHEC Business School.

Sephora’s European and Middle Eastern operations have seen remarkable success, with annual growth exceeding 20% between 2022 and 2024. The beauty retailer has focused on store openings and renovations, including the addition of 15 new stores in 2023 and the reopening of its iconic Champs-Élysées flagship.
